Thunderstorm allergy

Suddenly, the skin happen to feel itch.

The moisturizer that always use does not fit quickly.

It is said that thunderstorm is one of factor.

So, I examined about that.

Inhaled allergic substance, asthma develop.

Skin is attacked, dermatitis develop.

Asthma and dermatitis are similar.

The literature suggests epidemic thunderstorm asthma occurs due to a complex interaction of patient and environmental factors. Patient factors include previous aeroallergen sensitization and a previous history of allergic rhinitis. Environmental factors include high concentrations of respirable aeroallergens in the atmosphere and thunderstorm outflow tracts that produce downdrafts containing these aeroallergens.
When allergies inhale rapidly and many allergy substance, thunderstorm asthma developed.

I can understand this too.

Impact or thunderstorm shock.

On 21st November 2016, Melbourne experienced an epidemic of ‘thunderstorm asthma.’ Although previously described in the literature, risk factors and natural history remain incompletely understood.
It was said that thunderstorm allergy possibility.

Result,an epidemic of thunderstorm asthma in Melbourne.

In Japan, Pollen and dust storm and other many allergic substance existing.

In this study of 263 respondents out of 344 patients presenting to ED with thunderstorm asthma, 58% had no asthma diagnosis. However, 53% of these had a history suggestive of probable undiagnosed asthma. 
58% on thunderstorm asthma had no asthma diagnosis, suddenly asthma developed.

Does thunderstorm asthma always happen?

No, it does not.

By the study in Tasmania, thunderstorm allergy have not happened for five years.

Happening to thunderstorm is not necessarily happen asthma.

Due to global warming, became pollen season longer and intensity of pollen in the air has increase.

Third : dust storm

Dust storm events were associated with asthma and respiratory admissions to hospitals in many studies. However, the effect varies among published studies. Although many studies have shown a significant increase in asthma exacerbations and hospital admissions, others have shown only mild association with no statistical significance between asthma outcomes and dust storm exposure.
Put it simply, desert storms related to asthma. It can not prove why it happens.

Cause is known in Japan.

Similarly, pollens have been attributed to worsen asthma exacerbations during seasonal dust storms. Watanabe et al., showed worsening asthma symptoms during dust dispersion period, defined as the dust storm day plus the next 6 days in April in Japan, when Japanese cedar pollen levels were increased, which was more common in patients with allergic rhinitis or atopy than in those without.

In Japan, cedar pollen season is February to April, dust storm peak is April.

Ceder pollen season and dust storm peak is same.

Increase asthma patients.

Pollen Allergy, which also destroys the skin

Collagen effect?

I write both effective paper and subtle effect paper.

At first, effective paper

An open-label multicenter study was conducted to investigate the effect of Pure Gold Collagen ingestion on aged skin. 
In total, 217 subjects in arm 1 completed the study. The volunteers were aged 23–69 years and all were Caucasians. All subjects had some photodamage and fine lines/wrinkles. One hundred and fifty-seven subjects had a medium or high distribution of fine lines and/or wrinkles (69 of these subjects agreed that their skin was wrinkled).

Easy summary

217 people drank "pure gold collagen". And it says that it has verified.

157 people had fine lines and wrinkles.

What was the result?

At the end of the study, the dermatologists noted that 109 of these 157 subjects (69%) had either visible or significant improvement in their facial lines (Figure 2A).
157 people had fine lines and wrinkles.

65% of people improved.

Just be careful.

This is not about collagen, about the effect of "pure gold collagen"

The second, sbtle paper

In this experiment, women in their twenties took drinks containing collagen for 8 weeks, and various measurements were performed.
This experiment was an experiment conducted by a double blind method, and experiments were conducted to obtain objective results as much as possible. There was no significant difference in the moisture content of the skin between the collagen-ingested group and the control group at three time points at the start of the experiment, 4 weeks, and 8 weeks.
However, in the collagen-ingested group, the stratumumabsorption capacity increased statistically significantly after 8 weeks compared with the start of the experiment. Other measurements showed no significant difference, but from this result it is suggested that oral ingestion of collagen improves the moisture retention of the skin.

Both of them can not prove that collagen reaches the skin.

Both paper can not prove "Collagen that ate both of them reaches the skin".

Sleep and skin aging and itchy

A question to suffering from itching.

"What is trouble?"

Many people said "not sleeping".

It is painful not to sleep.

So, I studied the influence on the skin of luck of sleep.

Various mechanisms have been postulated linking sleep disturbances and eczema, including increases in markers of systemic inflammatory cytokines and T-cell activation. Interleukin-1 induced inflammation is increased in the nighttime which may play a role in enhancing nocturnal itching.

Easy to summarize

And T-cell and cytokines enhance eczema."


There was a reason to stronger itchy at night.

Work, school, playing, etc.

Poor sleep quality as ascertained by Pittsburgh sleep quality index >5 and sleep duration of ≤5 h was shown to be associated with increased signs of intrinsic aging and decreased skin barrier function when measured by transepidermal water loss.
The moisture of skin decreases and skin barrier function decreases.

Lack of sleep bad the skin.

The sleep deprived individuals were noted to have hanging eyelids, swollen eyes, darker circles and more droopy corners of the mouth.

Lack of sleep is never good thing.

Good skin nutrition

Beautiful skin, it want to be a lot of people.

In fact, me too.

So, searching for something nice way.

I found a paper on nutrition that has good effect on the skin.

The nutrients introduced in this paper

・Vitamins A
Carotenoids are vitamin A derivates like β-carotene, astaxanthin, lycopene and retinol, which are all highly effective antioxidants and have been documented to possess photoprotective properties.

・Vitamins C
Vitamins C also named L-ascorbic acid, is water soluble, photosensitive and is the most important antioxidant in the hydrophilic phase.

・Vitamins D
Also suggest an association between skin aging and levels of 25(OH)D3, another precursor of vitamin D.

・Vitamins E
Vitamin C and vitamin E act synergistically.

・Polyphenols
Polyphenols is mainly because of their antioxidant properties.
Many researches on anti-aging have been announced.

・Ubiquinol (Coenzyme Q10)
Ubiquinol is also a well-known powerful antioxidant compound. In the skin, CoQ10 is mainly to be found in the epidermis where it acts in combination with other enzymic and non-enzymic substances as the initial barrier to oxidant assault.

・Pre - and Probiotics
Clinical studies that used probiotic bacteria (Lactobacillus johnsonii NCC 533) to modulate the cutaneous immune homeostasis altered by solar-simulated UV exposure in humans suggest that certain probiotics can help preserve the skin homeostasis by modulating the skin immune system.

・Essential Fatty Acids (Vitamin F)
Higher linoleic acid intakes were associated with a lower likelihood of senile dryness and skin atrophy.

Is this all nutrients?

This is not everything.

As a reason, all the nutrients have not been found yet.

Not all nutrients such as vegetables, fruits and meats, fishes have been elucidated.
